Round Antique English Tray In The Ashburnham Pattern, Made In London, 1871, By John Hunt & Robert Roskell (Formerly Storr & Mortimer).



Tray Is 17" diameter. Weighs 2,100 grams



The pattern was originally designed for the Earl Of Ashburnham, an avid traveller, collector of fine art, rare books & manuscripts. The Earl commissioned an extensive silver dinner service with a new and particular design, adapted from Moorish ornament, made by the firm of Storr & Mortimer in the 1830's. The pattern was continued into the late 1800's by Hunt & Roskell, the continuation of the firm of Storr & Mortimer
